The meeting approved a time‑sensitive contract award to Midcon Construction LLC in the amount of $222,810 to replace deteriorated brick at the police station entrance, install an ADA‑compliant ramp and resurfacing the front parking lot.
Public Works Director Gary Schneider said the project will replace brick at the main and right‑side entrances, remove and reset any memorial bricks for the police to retain, install a five‑foot concrete sidewalk with handrails and resurface the small front parking lot. “All that brick comes out,” Schneider said. “Any of the brick that has a name on it... those would be stacked someplace and given to the police department.” He added that the contractor will have 90 days to complete the work after the contract is signed; Schneider estimated the contractor could finish in 60–65 days but the town allowed 90 days to account for weather and other delays.
Board members asked whether the underground lighting wiring was in conduit and whether any underground utilities would require replacement; Schneider said the wiring sweeps appear to be in conduit and the main utility lines are located further into the lot. The board approved the contract by voice vote.
