Town of Bethania approves five-year contract with Foothill Waste Solutions

The Town of Bethania Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on Nov. 14 to approve a contract with Foothill Waste Solutions to provide municipal waste collection beginning July 1, 2025 and continuing through June 30, 2030, with a built-in three-year automatic extension.
Town Clerk Karen Keller told the board the existing contract expires on June 30, 2025 and that the proposed agreement carries the town's current annual CPI-based increase, capped at 3 percent. Commissioner Johanna Brown moved to approve the contract; the motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner Tom Beroth earlier reviewed the town's financial reports but the board did not raise questions specific to the waste contract during final consideration. The contract language includes an automatic three-year renewal that would take effect July 1, 2030, extending the agreement through June 30, 2033 by mutual consent of the town and the company.
The board took the vote during its regular meeting at the Alpha Chapel. There were three members present for the vote: Mayor Brent Rockett, Commissioner Tom Beroth and Commissioner Johanna Brown; two commissioners were absent.
