“The town can apply up to $950,000 a year, and you can do this each year,” the interim manager said while describing the timeline and eligibility rules. He noted a tight deadline and that the application is due Oct. 29; the manager proposed a first public hearing on Aug. 5 and a second public hearing at the town’s first September meeting.
Commissioner (speaking) moved to allow the manager to approve the engagement agreement with the consultant; the mayor announced that the motion was made and carried. The manager said the consultant would likely be considered for administration if the grant were awarded but that that decision would follow normal procurement and contracting rules. No contract value for administration services was specified in the transcript.
