Fire Chief Troy Madland presented the Fire Department’s annual report to the village board at the Jan. 12 meeting, and highlighted intergovernmental and training details.
Madland said Kildare’s contract increased by 3 percent, reported 196 EMR responses in the past year, and said the department was awarded a 50/50 DNR grant for $3,600. He also documented 256 hours of unpaid extra training and maintenance. Madland said four new members will attend an entry-level fire class at Western Technical College (WWTC) in New Lisbon beginning in February, and he noted that the Juneau County Fire Chiefs Association will hold its quarterly meeting at the fire station the following evening.
Police Chief Jeremy Bonikowske reported the department closed the year with 196 calls for service and 18 citations issued over the year, with three new citations issued in January and six calls so far in the month. Bonikowske said Rose Street remains an active enforcement focus and that one notice he issued resulted in the removal of a vehicle.
Clerk/Treasurer Michelle Klein and Chief Madland said they are working together to consolidate vehicle titles and better align expense categories. The board later entered closed session under Wis. Stat. §19.85(1)(c) to consider personnel matters and reconvened; the minutes record no public action resulting from the closed session.
