Lyndon Station board tables WWTP pay apps, weighs replacing water mains alongside DOT road work

Trustees in Lyndon Station on Feb. 9 tabled Draw Requests/Pay Apps #9 and #10 and Change Order Requests #2 and #3 for the village wastewater treatment plant project while continuing to oversee project timelines.
The board voted unanimously to table the pay apps and change orders after Public Works reported the WWTP is progressing now that a timeline exists. The motion to table was made by Trustee Morgan Place and seconded by Trustee Rebecca Coley.
Public Works representatives told the board the Wisconsin Department of Transportation plans 2027 resurfacing and reconstruction work along routes that the Village expects to use for rerouting traffic during interstate construction planned around 2030. Village staff and engineers discussed whether the Village can replace water mains while the DOT performs its work to avoid duplicated disruption. Davy Engineering has submitted paperwork seeking loans and grants under the Safe Drinking Water Act; the Village was told it could be eligible for up to 55% of the project cost, but designs and plans must be complete by the end of June to remain eligible.
Public Works members said the board intends to confer with engineering firm MSA to develop project plans and financing options. No final decision on pursuing the water-main replacements was made at the meeting.
The board also tabled consideration of a PFAS settlement retainer agreement at the same meeting; that item will return to a future agenda.
