Town of Maiden Rock supervisors reported progress on road grading and storm cleanup at the Aug. 11 monthly meeting and deferred a planned parking-lot blade patching project until spring.
Supervisors said many trees came down in recent storms, particularly in the Warrentown area, and that roads are ready to be marked for rocking. Chairman Jerry F. Duden said he would contact Whitetail to repair soffit damage on the town building, and the board noted the salt shed needs maintenance.
Clerk/Treasurer Carla R. Schuster listed upcoming bills for board consideration, including Johnson Tractor, All Croix Inspection, Menards and Chippewa Valley Energy. The board reviewed time cards with no concerns.
During public comment, resident Dan Ellenberger asked about Cole Kangas parking a personal vehicle inside a garage; the board said it had checked with Rural Mutual Insurance and the situation is covered under township policy. Resident Judy Krohn thanked Cole for turning a street sign by her house.
The board scheduled follow-up maintenance and listed the operation ordinance study and a resolution regarding authority bonds for next month’s agenda. The meeting adjourned at 8:31 p.m.
