Knob Noster forms water-connection policy committee; P&Z zoning updates discussed
Summary

On the Water Connection Policy, discussion established that the current policy permits the City Administrator to make connection decisions. Alderman Thering said increased water connections would raise revenue for the system; Alderman Charrette said the city should develop a new policy. Mayor Byerly appointed a Water Connection Policy committee composed of Aldermen Charrette and Thering and the board set the item aside while the committee works through a replacement policy.
The City Administrator also relayed an updated Planning & Zoning proposal amending R-1 and R-2 zoning language. Alderman Thering said he fully supports the amendments as a guideline for future builds; Mayor Byerly said the changes would enhance future planning of subdivisions and housing developments. No formal zoning ordinance vote was recorded at this meeting.
The actions create a process for policy drafting; any resulting water-connection policy or zoning ordinance changes will return to the board for formal consideration.
