The Troy City Council on Jan. 13 voted to appoint Tyler Boswell as mayor for the remainder of the current term. The motion was made by Councilor Scott Hoffman and seconded by Councilor Jamie Shupe; Councilor TJ Boswell abstained. The motion carried.
The appointment creates a vacancy on the council. Staff said the city will publish a notice soliciting letters of interest to fill the open council seat for the remainder of the term. The council did not take further action on filling that seat at the meeting.
The vote followed routine agenda business and other approvals earlier in the session. The meeting adjourned at 8:52 p.m.
