The Marion School Board met Sept. 9, 2024, in the Marion Elementary School Library Media Center and adopted the meeting agenda after a roll-call vote. The board then approved routine business including the Aug. 12 meeting minutes, payment of checks #33076 through #33174 and ACH payments #242500016 through #242500055, and the August 31 financial report.
Board members approved newly presented hires; the motion carried with School Board President John Schwartz recorded as abstaining. The board accepted community donations of notebooks, composition books and other school supplies from Courtney and Brian Lohff; school supplies from Premier Community Bank; backpacks and supplies from Kayla Bessette; backpacks and school supplies from Marge Wichmann and Peggy Nerby; supplies from St. John's Lutheran Church; and yearbooks from 1953–1955 donated by Gerry Beauchamp.
The board approved student transportation driver contracts as presented; the motion carried with Dawn Papendorf and John Schwartz recorded as abstaining. Motions to adopt the agenda and to adjourn were moved and seconded by board members and were recorded as carried. The meeting adjourned at 6:04 p.m.
