The Knob Noster Board of Aldermen on July 15 heard a series of departmental updates on local events and equipment, discussed aligning the Personnel Policy Manual with the city's insurance provider MIRMA, and approved routine agenda and consent items.
Alderman Palmer announced Waterpalooza at Mitch Franklin Park on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; Alderman Byerly said the Open‑Air Market is scheduled for July 19, 2025, and Alderman Charrette noted the Methodist Church will host a community breakfast that same Saturday. Following a January airman suicide mentioned during remarks, Alderman Charrette asked that the city post information about the suicide hotline on the city's website and social media.
Mayor Carter said he had contacted a chip‑and‑seal company that uses a membrane the vendor says can extend road life by 10 to 15 years and said he will return to the board with pricing information. Lieutenant Ben Burch reported that the police department's Dodge vehicles each have under 22,000 miles and have experienced multiple water‑pump failures. Assistant Fire Chief Ben Fundaburg showed photos of an almost‑completed brush truck, said four firefighters will attend training in September funded by the Gary Sinise Foundation, and said the department received three thermal imaging cameras at no cost.
The Planning and Zoning Commission is reviewing site plan designs for R1, R2 and R3 zoning and will meet next on July 24, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. The City Administrator presented his report and will appoint representatives to a committee to update the Personnel Policy Manual to align with MIRMA; the board waived appointing a representative to that committee.
There was no public or virtual participation recorded. The board approved the meeting agenda and the consent agenda (including minutes from July 1, 2025) and adjourned at 7:49 p.m.
