Drummond board sets DBC rent, reappoints library trustee and approves election officials and bills

The Town of Drummond Board on Dec. 9 approved a series of routine governance actions including setting rent at the Drummond Business Center, appointing election officials, reappointing a library trustee and approving municipal bills.
The board discussed future uses for the old bank building and the Drummond Business Center (DBC). Minutes state $65,000 is budgeted to raze or upgrade either building; the board agreed to seek a formal plan and cost estimates to make the old bank usable as rental office space. Bluestem Forestry Consulting, Inc. asked to rent the office formerly occupied by the game warden and indicated it could move to the bank building if it becomes operational. Supervisor Jeff Hurula moved and Supervisor Scott McKinney seconded a motion to set rent at $250 per month; the motion carried.
Treasurer Pam Kalies reported account balances as of Nov. 30, 2025: Checking $878,116.62; Savings $371.55 and $8,414.34; LGIP $188,053.99. Public Works Director Mark Jerome reported on snowstorm-related tree damage and plowing challenges and said a new plow truck is expected later in December. Jerome also reported the new firetruck has arrived and will be showcased at an open house on Dec. 20.
During public comment, resident Ed Ronkowski thanked the crew, saying they did a “great job plowing and getting roads cleared early in the morning.”
The board approved a resolution appointing chief inspectors and election officials for the 2026–2027 election cycle (Resolution #20251209B) after a motion by Hurula and second by McKinney. The board also reappointed Jillian Pliss to the Drummond Public Library Board of Trustees for a three-year term expiring December 2028 (motion by Hurula, second by McKinney). Supervisors Hurula and McKinney moved and seconded approval of checks #46016 through #46061, including debits and direct deposits; that motion carried.
Chairman Roy Bloom said he will be in Florida during January and February and will remain involved as possible but will not attend the next two meetings in person. The board set its next meeting for Jan. 13, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. and adjourned at 7:32 p.m.
