At its Jan. 6 meeting the Markesan Streets, Buildings & Utilities Committee directed several administrative follow-ups related to property maintenance and permitting.
Committee member Rich moved—and Dennis seconded—that the building inspector be asked to contact the owners of 20 N High Street to repair a retaining wall and fence; the motion passed with all ayes. The minutes record that Tamra, a staff member, was assigned to contact Tim Tripp to obtain a status update on an inspection at 140 N Bridge Street and report back to the council at the next meeting.
On a separate motion concerning fees and permits, Rich moved—and Dave seconded—that Tamra report to the council with updated information about fees and permits; that motion passed. The minutes do not specify what updates are expected, a deadline beyond the next meeting, or which department funds any potential repair work.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:12 p.m.
