The City of Markesan Common Council voted Jan. 13 to authorize solicitations for a one-year line of credit of $125,000 from Ergo Bank and Horicon Bank to help fund a fire truck, a fire station approach repair and a police vehicle.
The motion (Kazda/Lager) carried 6-0. Earlier in the meeting the council also approved a payment of $7,703.75 to the Grand River Fire District for a driveway; that payment was moved ahead of the approval-of-claims item and carried 5-0 on roll call.
Separately, council approved an additional $993.80 payment to Black Gold Diesel Services for the Emergency Management Truck, to be paid from the Emergency Government savings account per Mike Ross, bringing the total payment for that vehicle to $13,993.90; motion Kazda/Triemstra carried 6-0 on roll call.
The minutes record the approvals and dollar amounts but do not include contract details, vendor invoices, or a repayment schedule for the proposed line of credit. The council did not record further discussion of financing terms or interest rates in the minutes.
