The Plan Commission agreed to suspend regular comprehensive-plan update sessions for the summer and to resume standalone Comprehensive Plan Update meetings beginning Sept. 17, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., with a two-hour time limit.
City staff (Robin Ginner) reported there is currently no distinction in city code between off-premise signs and sponsorship signs displayed year-round at local facilities such as the snowmobile derby track and the Vilas County Fairgrounds. Ginner will research code options and return recommendations to the commission.
The commission concluded its business and adjourned at 8:03 p.m. following a motion by Mary Horant and a second by Alex Forer; the motion carried, all.
