Marquette board approves bills, liquor and operator licenses; reviews LRIP road bids

At its June 8 meeting the Village of Marquette Board approved the agenda, minutes, Treasurer's report and payment of $9,022.08 in vouchers, granted liquor, tobacco, mobile-home and operators' licenses (with one abstention), and directed follow-up on three LRIP road bids; recycling and county road work updates were provided.
The Village of Marquette Village Board met on June 8, 2026, at Village Hall and carried a series of routine administrative actions, including approval of the agenda, minutes and the Treasurer's financial report.
Board members voted to pay vouchers 1385-1403 totaling $4,322.08 plus $4,700.00 for maintained balance and utilities, for a grand total of $9,022.08; the board also authorized a transfer of $8,000 to the General Fund and noted an amended bank ending balance of $5,162.83 for May 13, 2026.
The board approved several licenses. Class B beer and liquor combination licenses were approved for Tucked Away, LLC (agent Robert G. Hill) and Pub N Prime (Peter C. Michalos). A cigarette license for Tucked Away (Robert G. Hill) and a mobile home operating license for Eunice Cahoon, for Cahoon's Resort, were also approved. A slate of operators' licenses for named applicants was granted; Trustee Peter Michalos is recorded as abstaining on the operators' motion, which otherwise passed.
On road projects, the village reported it received LRIP bids from Fahrner, Scotts Construction and Northeast Asphalt. President Art Cybul said he will follow up with each bidder to clarify quotes; the board did not award a contract and may re-advertise the LRIP solicitation for additional clarification.
Board reminders included a recycling update that scheduled the dumpster pickup next week, and a report that the county plans to finish grading, striping and landscaping by the end of June on village roads.
There were four members of the public present and no public comments were offered during the citizen comment portion. The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
