Conservation Commission closes hearing on transfer of three Mansfield St. parcels to conservation list

The Sharon Conservation Commission on April 23 closed the public hearing on Article #8 of the May 4 Annual Town Meeting warrant, which proposes transferring care and custody of three town-owned parcels at 51R, 71R and 93R Mansfield Street from the Select Board to the Conservation Commission. Chair Peg Arguimbau read the public notice and said the parcels are bordered by conservation land and that the parcel at 71R provides access to a portion of the King Philip lands trail network.
No abutters were present at the virtual hearing. Commissioners noted the warrant includes maps and text that will be shown in a digitized map at Town Meeting so voters can see the relationship between the parcels, King Philip Road and the trailhead. The commission voted to close the hearing; action to transfer title or accept the parcels is a separate Town Meeting decision on May 4.
