Council appoints Leanne Patrick clerk, names Dahlis Morrow to housing board and approves fire department street closure

The council appointed Administrative Assistant Leanne Patrick as Clerk of Council and named Director of Finance Dahlis Morrow to the Nicks Lane Area Housing Rehabilitation Board; it also approved a March 23 street closure for the South Hill Volunteer Fire Department's aerial operations.
At the Feb. 10 meeting the South Hill Town Council unanimously appointed Administrative Assistant Leanne Patrick to serve as Clerk of Council. The appointment was moved by Vice Mayor Gavin Honeycutt and seconded by Councilor Lillie Feggins-Boone.
Council also appointed Director of Finance and Administration Dahlis Morrow to the Nicks Lane Area Housing Rehabilitation Board by motion of Councilor Jenifer Freeman-Hite and second by Councilor Delores Luster; the motion carried unanimously.
Separately, the council approved a street closure request from the South Hill Volunteer Fire Department to close the block from the Atlantic Street stoplight to Main Street on Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to conduct downtown aerial operations. The request was approved after staff presented the event scheduling and safety rationale; no special conditions were recorded in the minutes.
