Town Manager Keli Reekes told the South Hill Town Council on Feb. 10 that mold remediation at Town Hall is approximately halfway finished and projected to be complete by the end of March 2025. Air-quality testing has been performed and staff is awaiting results, Reekes said. Because remediation must finish before restoration work can begin, the restoration project is projected to take six to nine months once remediation is complete.
Councilor Michael Smith asked about livestreaming council meetings from the temporary chambers. Reekes said the audio-visual equipment necessary to livestream meetings is costly and recommended the Town not invest in temporary equipment at the temporary location; she said staff would proceed with installation if Council directed it to do so.
The minutes record the update and the staff recommendation but do not show any formal council direction to purchase or install temporary audio-visual equipment at this meeting.
