Elmwood trustees table action on nursing home repairs pending cost estimates

President Neil Boltik moved and the board voted to table consideration of repairs to a nursing home property after staff reported boilers had shut down and several water lines froze over the weekend.
Clerk/Treasurer Holly Malaszuk read a written statement from Public Works Director Bryan Bechel saying Bartingale Mechanical restarted the boilers and that staff drained boilers and water lines to prevent additional damage. Because final repair estimates and bills were not yet available, the board postponed further action pending pricing.
The board considered but did not enter a closed session. Trustee Dawn Toth seconded the motion to table; the motion carried by voice vote.
The loan payment for the nursing home property appeared on the bills list and was approved as part of routine payments later in the meeting. The board did not set a date for follow-up; members said they will return the item to the agenda after staff obtains repair estimates.
