Evansville council approves multiple annexations, land divisions and routine agreements

Council considered multiple Plan Commission recommendations. Alderperson Cory Neeley moved to approve Ordinance #2024-09 on second reading to annex three parcels from the Town of Union; the motion passed 7-0. The council also approved land division application LD-2024-12 to divide parcel 6-27-862 into Lot 1 and Outlot 1, conditioned on recording the final certified survey map with the Rock County Register of Deeds. First readings were held for Ordinance #2024-12 (rezoning land at 60 N. Union Street) and Ordinance #2024-13 (annexing three parcels and right‑of‑way from the Town of Union).
The council approved additional certified survey maps and land divisions, including LD-2024-13 (combining parcels 6-27-661 and 6-27-541) and LD-2024-14 to divide parcel 6-27-316.368 into two lots for a two‑family twin residence at 621 and 623 Windsor Lane. A separate certified survey map to divide parcel 6-27-559.5067 into two lots for a two‑family twin residence at 601 Porter Road and 305 S. Sixth Street was approved with the condition that the final CSM be recorded and a joint maintenance and cross‑access agreement be recorded against both properties.
On finance matters, Alderperson Cory Neeley moved and Alderperson Jim Brooks seconded acceptance of the September 2024 city bills in the amount of $2,762,476.35; the motion passed by roll call, 7-0.
The council approved other routine items by unanimous vote, including the Joint Powers Agreement between Rock County and the City of Evansville for 2025 (moved by Alderperson Erika Stuart, seconded by Alderperson Gene Lewis) and the Third Amendment to the Water Tower and Ground Space Lease Agreement with United States Cellular Operating Company LLC (d/b/a US Cellular) (moved by Neeley, seconded by Ben Corridon).
Alderperson Cory Neeley moved, seconded by Jim Brooks, to approve Resolution 2024-21 adopting the city’s adjusted urban area boundary; that motion also passed 7-0.
All votes reported during the meeting were recorded as 7-0 where roll call was taken. No motions failed, were tabled, or postponed during the session. The council adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
