Council renews and issues multiple alcohol licenses, flags application form issues; parade policing noted

On June 10 the Evansville Common Council approved several alcohol beverage licenses and discussed process and public-safety concerns related to local events.
The council approved an original Class B beer/Class B liquor license for Creative Collaborative Ventures, LLC (d/b/a Picture This Creative Workshop) with William Corfman listed as agent; the motion passed 7-0. The council also approved renewals for multiple Class A and Class B licenses for local retailers and restaurants, including Casey’s General Store #3583, Consumers Cooperative Oil Company, Kopecky’s Piggly Wiggly, All-N-One (Madison Street Express), SD Evansville Minimart, Allen Creek Coffeehouse, Blue Devil Bowl, Creekside Place, El Vallarta, VFW Memorial Post 6905, Lovegood’s Coffee & Cocktails, Pete’s Inn, Slice Golf, The Night Owl Sports Pub & Eatery and Trappers Bar & Grill. All license motions passed by roll call votes of 7-0.
During consideration, Alderperson Ben Corridon inquired about incomplete and inconsistent information on some applications; Clerk Leah Hurtley said state form delays created roughly a two-week turnaround for submissions. Alderperson Erika Stuart noted there had been limited police presence at the Memorial Day parade because officers were on calls; Ald. Gene Lewis asked that the July 4 event committee coordinate with Public Safety next year to address coverage.
All licensing approvals passed unanimously; councilors did not take additional enforcement action during the meeting.
