Mary Claire Olsen Potter, director of the Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce, used Western Wisconsin Journal to preview fall and winter offerings in Hudson, including the 40th Hudson Christmas Tour of Homes, the Buena Vista stroll that funds holiday lights, and the Chamber's recently published tourism guide.
Potter said the Hudson Christmas Tour of Homes will run Nov. 20—22 and will feature four privately owned homes in the historic Octagon House; buses will shuttle visitors who prefer not to drive the full route. "It's really the kickoff for the retail shopping for the holiday season and restaurants," she said.
She described the Buena Vista stroll as the Chamber's annual fundraiser to install lights in Lakefront Park; Potter said about 40 individuals, families and businesses contribute to putting roughly 50,000 lights up in the park. The lights are turned on Nov. 27 and remain on for approximately three months through mid-February.
Potter also noted the Chamber published its first Hudson Discover tourism guide in 2025 and keeps printed guides and maps at the Chamber office at 219 2nd Street for visitors and newcomers.
She encouraged listeners to check the Chamber for volunteer opportunities and for printed guides when planning fall and holiday visits to Hudson.
