Ogdensburg council approves consent agenda including Blue Diamond bond, tax sale redemption and rental contract amendment

The Borough of Ogdensburg Mayor and Council approved a consent agenda at their Sept. 9 meeting that included several contract and fiscal housekeeping items. Councilman Alvarez moved to approve the consent agenda and Councilman Nardini seconded; the roll call showed Yeas from Alvarez, Nardini and Slater, with Councilman O’Dell recorded as abstaining on items 1–9 and two members absent.
Among the actions, the council acknowledged and accepted a $213,300 performance bond from Blue Diamond Disposal, Inc. guaranteeing the town’s solid waste and recyclable materials collection contract for Sept. 1, 2019 to Sept. 1, 2020 and authorized the mayor and borough clerk to execute related documents and return the bid bond. Borough Attorney Robert McBriar summarized the contract status prior to the vote.
The council also authorized Resolution 71-2019 to redeem third-party tax sale certificate #2017-010 for Block 26.04 Lot 3 (8 Plaskon Terrace) and to issue a check for $8,505.82 to US Bank Cust for PC7 Firstrust Bank; the resolution notes the Tax Collector, Regina Flammer, advised payment had been received. Resolution 72-2019 authorized a refund of $962.20 to Beth and Kevin O’Leary for an overpayment on 2019 taxes at 18 Ogden Way due to an assessment change.
Finally, the council ratified an amended agreement with Party Perfect Rentals LLC to add one recreational item for Ogdensburg Day, increasing the contract total to $13,068.75 and authorizing execution of the amended contract.
The motions on the consent agenda were recorded as passed by roll call. No additional debate from members or the public was reported on these items during the recorded session.
