Ladue council unanimously adopts 2024 Stormwater Master Plan and 5‑Year CIP

The Ladue City Council on Aug. 19 unanimously approved an updated 2024 Stormwater Master Plan Project List and a 5‑Year Stormwater Capital Improvement Plan following a presentation by the director of public works.
Ms. Lamitola, Director of Public Works, reported that Public Works engineering staff and the Stormwater Advisory Committee, with assistance from HR Green, reviewed the 2016 Stormwater Control Program ordinance and the 2017 implementation plan in preparing the 2024 update. Staff reevaluated projects, updated exhibits and revised cost estimates and rankings. The advisory committee recommended that the council approve the updated project list.
During discussion Council Member Stacey Kamps raised concerns about how changes to the master plan project list had been communicated to residents and stressed the importance of ensuring residents understood the project ranking process. Council Member William Brennan moved to approve the 2024 Stormwater Master Plan Project List; Council Member Harold Burroughs seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Council Member Burroughs then moved to approve the 2024 Stormwater Management Program 5‑Year Capital Improvement Plan; Council Member John Howell seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The approvals formalize the updated project priorities and the five‑year spending plan presented to the council; specific funding sources and implementation schedules were included in the plan exhibits but the council’s action at the meeting focused on adopting the project list and CIP.
