Laddonia aldermen adopt FY 2026'2027 budget, hire part-time officer; treasurer records resignation

The Laddonia Board of Aldermen on June 23 unanimously approved the citys FY 2026'2027 budget, voted to hire a part-time police officer and recorded the city treasurers resignation.
Mayor Tresa Hodges called the special meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall and opened the meeting with a brief welcome: "Welcome to everyone," she said.
Kevin Charlton moved and Gary Garnett seconded a motion to approve the meeting agenda; the motion passed 4-0. Later in the evening, Alderman Dwayne Hogue moved and Garnett seconded a motion to approve the FY 2026'2027 budget; that motion also passed 4-0, formally adopting the budget for the coming fiscal year.
The board then voted, 4-0, on a motion by Jeremy Fendrick and second by Dwayne Hogue to enter a closed session at 8:09 p.m. for discussion of personnel matters. The board returned to open session at 8:19 p.m.; Hogue moved and Charlton seconded the motion to resume open session, which passed 4-0.
After reconvening, Hogue moved and Fendrick seconded a motion to hire part-time police officer Richard Ingram at a rate of $20.00 per hour. The motion passed 4-0.
The minutes also record that City Treasurer Nicholas Parrish submitted his resignation, effective April 17, 2027; the resignation was entered into the meeting record. With no further business, Charlton moved and Hogue seconded a motion to adjourn; Mayor Hodges adjourned the meeting at 8:19 p.m.
