Fennimore council adopts wastewater rate increase, raises procurement threshold and approves several motions

The Common Council of the City of Fennimore met Oct. 20 and approved a series of motions affecting utilities, procurement and city projects.
The council adopted Resolution 2025-10-20A to increase rates for the wastewater system on a motion by Adam Day and a second by Strack. The motion passed on a roll-call vote, 6-0.
Council members also approved the city’s claims for Oct. 20, 2025, totaling $485,310.86, and accepted payroll figures for three pay periods listed in the meeting record. The approvals were passed on a roll-call vote of 6-0.
On procurement policy, the council voted to raise the formal purchasing threshold from $5,000 to $10,000, subject to legal review, on a motion by Streif and a second by Adam Day. The motion carried 6-0.
The council approved reallocating general obligation (GO) funds to purchase a sewer truck (motion by Adam Day, second by Streif), and approved completing and waiving fees for a Marsden Park building permit (motion by Adam Day, second by Streif). Both motions carried 6-0.

- Approval of an Operator license for Jennifer Ohlhauser (motion by Day, second by Jeff Hagen). - Approval of the Sept. 15, 2025 meeting minutes (motion by Strack, second by Sarah Kretschman). - Approval of a memorandum of understanding with Robert and Cynthia Krantz for parcel #226-00655-0030 (motion by Adam Day, second by Streif). - Adoption of Ordinance 2025-10-20B amending Chapter 10 to create four-way stops at Madison & 8th Street and Madison & 9th Street (motion by Streif, second by Adam Day). - Authorization for Mayor Ryan Boebel to work with Attorney Ben Wood on an agreement to allow non‑residents to hook up to city water (motion by Adam Day, second by Jeff Hagen). - Approval to allow the To the Cross Missions Sports Banquet on Nov. 14, 2025, to have food, non‑alcoholic beverages and guns for raffles in the gymnasium (motion by Adam Day, second by Sarah Kretschman). - Hiring of candidate #2 for the Street Maintenance Worker position following a closed-session personnel review (motion by Adam Day, second by Day).
All recorded roll‑call votes on motions in the meeting record show six votes in favor and zero opposing or abstaining votes. The meeting adjourned at 6:59 p.m.
