Council Member Burroughs moved approval of the Brauer Building Special Use Permit, and the motion passed unanimously. The field improvements permit, which allows an increased height for poles and netting for the baseball backstop and a new pavilion building, also passed unanimously.
Separately, the council considered a request for temporary lighting for up to three John Burroughs games (requested dates: Aug. 23, Aug. 30 and Sept. 20) and approved that Special Use Permit unanimously as well. City Attorney Erin Seele stated the full application file, staff report and exhibits were part of the record for each hearing.
Each permit was approved with the standard conditions set forth in the staff reports and as part of the requested Special Use Permits; the minutes record no split votes or additional neighborhood objections in the hearing segments for these items.
The approvals allow John Burroughs School to proceed with the described construction and limited temporary lighting for the dates requested, subject to the conditions articulated in the staff reports and permits.
