Richland Parish School Board holds executive session to evaluate superintendent; approves amended agenda and minutes

The Richland Parish School Board met July 8, 2025, in Rayville and unanimously moved into a closed executive session to evaluate the superintendent after approving an amended agenda that added the evaluation as Agenda Item No. 7. The meeting began at 6:03 p.m.
Dr. Georgia Ineichen, a board member, moved to approve the amended agenda; Mrs. Linda Jones seconded the motion, which passed "Yeas: All; Nays: None" with Mr. Scott McKay recorded as absent. Later in the meeting Mrs. Emily Ogden moved, seconded by Mrs. Linda Jones, to approve the June 17, 2025 regular meeting minutes for publication in the Official Journal; that motion also passed unanimously with Mr. McKay absent.
The board received routine monthly reports, including the personnel chart, the school lunch monthly financial statement, the sales tax revenue statement and the general fund monthly financial statement. Board members were also given information about upcoming district events; no public action on events was recorded.
At the meeting a motion by Mr. James Hough, seconded by Rev. William Cleveland, put the board into an executive session to conduct the superintendents evaluation. The board voted to exit executive session on a motion by Mrs. Marie Lewis, seconded by Mrs. Emily Ogden; the exit time recorded in the minutes was 7:06 p.m. The public minutes do not disclose discussion or findings from the closed session.
Mr. Reed Trisler moved, seconded by Rev. William Cleveland, to adjourn; the motion carried unanimously with Mr. Scott McKay absent. The minutes are signed by Sheldon R. Jones, secretary, and Chris Pruitt, president of the Richland Parish School Board.
