Ogdensburg council approves consent agenda and several resolutions; vouchers signed

The Mayor and Council of the Borough of Ogdensburg approved a multi-item consent agenda on Nov. 25, 2019, advancing routine minutes, appointments, licensing requests and grant-related actions.
Councilman Nardini moved and Councilwoman O’Dell seconded approval of the consent agenda, which included: approval of Nov. 12, 2019 regular meeting minutes; Resolution 96-2019 (appointing a fund commissioner to fill a 2019 vacancy); Resolution 89-2019 (appointing a fund commissioner for 2020); Resolution 90-2019 (appointing a risk management consultant and agreement); Resolution 91-2019 (calling for a study commission to review the Open Public Records Act); Resolution 92-2019 (transfer of appropriations for the 2019 municipal budget); Resolution 93-2019 (authorizing discharge of mortgage in the amount of $13,015.00 for Joan Steven, 24 Kennedy Ave., Block 15 Lot 10); Resolution 94-2019 (authorizing the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse fiscal grant cycle and strategic plan for the municipal alliance grant, fiscal 2021); approval of a tricky-tray license and a 50/50 raffle for St. Thomas of Aquin RC Church Holy Name Society for events planned Jan. 25, 2020 at the Ogdensburg Volunteer Fire Department; acceptance of a resignation of Municipal Public Defender Vanessa Henderson effective Dec. 31, 2019; and acceptance of intermunicipal correspondence from Sandyston Township concerning a countywide mutual-aid agreement and a resolution calling for a study commission on OPRA.
The roll-call vote to approve the consent agenda carried; the minutes record an abstention by Councilman Nelson Alvarez on item 1 and affirmative votes by the other listed members. Later in the meeting, the council returned from executive session and voted to review payment of vouchers and departmental finance reports; the vouchers listing shows Current fund disbursements totaling $42,100.76 and additional payments in capital, grant and payroll funds.
Earlier in the meeting the Borough Clerk administered the oath of office to Councilman Nelson Alvarez. The meeting adjourned at 8:22 p.m.
