At its April 8 regular meeting in Rayville, the Richland Parish School Board approved a series of routine administrative items, including the March 11, 2025 meeting minutes, adoption of the 2025–26 school calendar (Option #1), updated district job descriptions, and several surplus sales.
The board voted unanimously, with Mr. James Hough and Mrs. Marie Lewis absent, to approve the previous meeting minutes after a motion by Dr. Georgia Ineichen and a second from Mrs. Linda Jones. Mr. Reed Trisler moved, seconded by Mr. Scott McKay, to declare a 2004 Bluebird 66-passenger bus (VIN 1BAKGCKA34F218765) surplus and pursue sale per the maintenance department recommendation; that motion carried.
Mrs. Emily Ogden moved, seconded by Rev. William Cleveland, to adopt Option #1 of the 2025–26 school calendar and the 12-month calendar as presented by Christy Hendrix; the motion passed with all members present voting yes. The board also approved updated job descriptions — including Director of Virtual Learning, Executive Master Teacher, Early Childhood Coordinator and several Master Teacher positions — on a motion by Mrs. Emily Ogden and second by Dr. Georgia Ineichen.
Mrs. Linda Jones moved, seconded by Mrs. Emily Ogden, to award the bid for surplus playground equipment at Rayville Elementary School to the Town of Mangham; members present voted in favor and the motion carried. The board received standard monthly reports (personnel chart, school lunch financials, sales tax revenue statement and general fund monthly statement) and information on upcoming district events. The meeting adjourned after a final, unanimous adjournment motion by Mr. Scott McKay and second by Mrs. Emily Ogden.
The board signed the meeting minutes: Sheldon Jones, secretary, and Mr. Chris Pruitt, president of the Richland Parish School Board.
