Stuart orders removal or demolition of unsafe mobile home at 411 Dobyns Road

Town Manager Bryce Simmons told the council on Feb. 18 that CW Tree Works completed removal of a hazardous tree affecting the mobile home at 411 Dobyns Road at a cost to the town of $1,500. Simmons said the town will mail a follow-up letter demanding payment from the property owner and has issued a 30-day order requiring the owner to demolish and remove the unsafe mobile home by March 31, 2026.
Simmons advised that if the owner does not comply the town will contract the demolition and assess all associated costs, including tipping fees, as a lien against the property. The council recorded the enforcement plan in open session; no vote to adopt an alternative enforcement action was taken at the meeting.
The action follows the town's property-safety enforcement process and gives the owner a statutory period to comply before the town proceeds with contractor removal and lien assessment.
