District schedules Dogie Dome AV work, key-fob access and gym floor project; email security to require MFA

Weston County School District #1 administrators described several facilities and security projects at the Feb. 12 Board meeting, including audio-visual upgrades at the Dogie Dome, new key-fob access for locker-room doors and a scheduled gym-floor refinishing project.
Technology Director Beau Gregory told the Board the district will replace six speakers and microphones in the Dogie Dome "this weekend," is gathering quotes to add key-fob readers to locker-room doors to reduce reliance on hard keys and is planning to deploy a Duo two-factor authentication system for district emails to combat spam and account compromises.
Maintenance Director Adam Ertman reported he solicited sealed bids to haul 100 tons of sand for the football field, with work expected to start in mid-March. Ertman also confirmed the gym-floor contractor is scheduled to refinish both gyms July 17–20 and that contractor access requirements may constrain scheduling for events such as the autocross planned in the high school parking lot. He noted the elementary playground slide is not under warranty and staff are searching for a compatible replacement.
District staff did not provide final contract amounts or vendor names at the meeting. Administrative follow-up will include soliciting bids and confirming schedules to avoid conflicts with summer events and athletics.
