District approves 2026 stormwater inventory task order to update watershed mapping

The Hoover Sanitary Stormwater District approved a task order to continue a multi‑year inventory of stormwater infrastructure and watershed features.
Staff described the 2026 task order (2026‑01) as a follow‑on to earlier mapping work and said it will inventory additional areas south of the railroad, examine easements and review connectivity where jurisdictional boundaries create complexity. Staff said the packet included a task order and pricing and that the board intends to keep the overall program dollar amount comparable to the prior year; staff and board discussed a not‑to‑exceed upper limit stated in the meeting materials.
Board members asked for confirmation that previous scope items had been added and for updated pricing; staff confirmed an updated task order with pricing had been provided. After discussion, the board moved and approved the task order to proceed so that the consultant can begin field inventory and mapping work.
The inventory is intended to clarify where mains, laterals, easements and cross‑jurisdiction connections exist so the district can better plan capital repairs, easement acquisition and coordination with neighboring jurisdictions.
