Trustees flag potential fund-name change after school warrant article is read

At their March 17 meeting at Gould House, the Stoddard Trustees of the Trust Funds heard a school warrant article read aloud by Terri LaRoche and agreed to monitor the item if it passes the School District’s vote.
Terri provided a copy of the warrant article and told the trustees the change could require administrative work in the New Hampshire Public Deposit Investment Pool (NHPDIP). She said the town has never changed a fund name with NHPDIP and that, if Article 04 passes, the trustees may need to contact NHPDIP to learn whether they should close the existing fund and open a new one. She also warned the change could affect the MS 9 and MS 10 financial reports.
Trustee Maureen Meyer said she would attend the School Board meeting on Thursday, March 19 to follow the item; the trustees agreed that they do not need to act immediately but might call an additional meeting if the article passes and a fund change becomes necessary. The trustees did not take any formal vote on the warrant article itself at the March 17 meeting.
Next steps: Maureen Meyer will watch the School Board meeting on March 19 and the trustees said they will reconvene as needed to determine how to implement any required changes with NHPDIP and how to report them in MS 9 & 10.
