Weston County School Board approves early‑release Fridays in revised 2025–26 calendar, accepts staff resignations and hires; administrator contracts tabled

Superintendent LaCroix recommended changing the calendar so every Friday would be an early‑release day and adding several built‑in days to be used for snow closures; Trustee Dana Gordon moved to approve the revision and Trustee Joe Prell seconded. The board voted to adopt the calendar.
During new business the board accepted certified resignations from Ashley Diaz, the district school nurse, and Mike Gregory, the high school counselor; both resignations take effect at the end of the school year and the district will post the positions. Trustee Dana Gordon moved to accept Diaz’s resignation with Trustee Tyler Mills seconding; the motion carried. Trustee Gordon also moved to accept Gregory’s resignation and Trustee Mills seconded; that motion carried as well.
The board approved a classified hire, appointing Keri Bridge as a bus route driver after Trustee Billy Fitzwater moved the recommendation and Trustee Paul Bau seconded. The board also approved the resignation of Lori Crawford as a Title I math teacher; the posting of that certified vacancy is contingent on continued federal funding.
On routine business the board approved the consent agenda, which included approval of minutes, regular bills and authorization to advertise a silent auction for one school bus and to dispose of two buses.
The board had earlier met in executive session under W. S. 16‑4‑405(ii) to discuss administrator evaluations and contracts. Those administrator contracts were not finalized in open session; under a motion to amend the agenda the board tabled that New Business item and scheduled a special meeting for Apr. 2 at 6:00 p.m. to address administrator contracts and initial/continuing contract discussions for certified staff.
