Northmoor aldermen direct drafting of amended permit and building-fee ordinance

The Northmoor Board of Aldermen on Sept. 24 instructed City Attorney Scott Sullivan to draft an amended ordinance updating the city’s Development Application and Building Permit fee schedule.
Mayor Lynda Wilson opened discussion of changes and additions to the fee schedule and asked the board to move forward with formal language. "An amended Ordinance will be prepared by City Attorney Scott Sullivan for approval at the next Board of Aldermen meeting," the record shows. The board moved and the roll call recorded four ayes and no nays.
The discussion also covered updating the local code references. Council members noted the city is using the 2012 International Fire Code, the 2006 International Building Code and the 2011 International Electrical Code and "suggested that the City of Northmoor adopt the international codes of 2021." City Attorney Scott Sullivan and board members indicated the code update would be included in the ordinance-drafting process.
Josh Koepke, the city's newly introduced Fire Codes Inspector, told the board multiple paint booths should be inspected routinely under the International Fire Code; the board asked Sullivan to include fee-setting authority for routine inspections in the draft ordinance so each jurisdiction-appropriate fee can be set later.
The ordinance language will be drafted for formal consideration at the next Board of Aldermen meeting; no final fee figures were set at the Sept. 24 session.
