Northmoor officials report on website redesign, storm-drain talks and city maintenance issues

City of Northmoor leaders used the March 4 meeting to update residents on a set of administrative and infrastructure matters including a website redesign, coordination on an AA Highway storm-drain project, winter damage to traffic-calming devices and upcoming finance actions.
Mayor Lynda Wilson reported that Treasurer, Alderman Joe Harris and she met with Solomon Reta about a new, compliant city website; board members were asked to remain after the meeting for photos to populate the site.
Wilson and other staff also said they met with Wes Mender on Feb. 25 about the AA Highway project. The discussion included the city’s Storm Drain Grant and whether aspects of the two projects could be coordinated; Mender said he would consult his engineer about possible collaboration. Don and Fayer Alexander and the utilities manager also participated in that discussion, according to the minutes.
The board noted operational issues: seven speed bumps were reported removed or damaged during winter and several spike components were bent or missing (Frontier Street called out by name). The city will assess repairs and safety impacts. The minutes also state a full boundary survey was suggested to resolve potential inaccuracies in the city’s boundary lines and that findings should be shared with 911 services.
On finance, a financial-services RFP was mailed to several banks with proposals due April 1, 2025. The board also noted a road certificate of deposit at Central Bank maturing March 8, 2025; a renewal rate of about 4% for eight months was discussed. Staff reported the city received a sample ballot for review and will transition next month to postcard utility billing to reduce time and cost.
Riverside Fire Department did not provide a monthly report at the meeting. The board received continuing updates on code-enforcement letters being mailed to residents and no new or old business was presented before adjournment.
