Northmoor board reviews attorney invoice, orders collection letter for overdue utility account

During review of a city-attorney invoice the board discussed a set of enforcement and compliance matters.
Mayor Wilson reported that water service had been shut off at 2222 NW 49th Terrace for nonpayment and that the property owed $732 for water, trash and sewer. Alderman Harris moved that the city attorney send a demand letter requesting payment; the motion was recorded.
The board also heard about a rezoning question for the Pentecostal Church at 2015 NW 50th St, where a buyer is uncertain whether the church property may be rezoned for commercial use. Separately, a citizen objected to a city notice to move a boat, noting other residents had not complied; the board discussed the 20-day compliance timeline and hard-surface requirements.
City auditor Kenny Hales noted that the city's last audit was three years ago and that the current audit used the modified cash basis; he said the city is in good shape and described how he would like to move forward with future audits.
