Northmoor hires codes officer, approves printer purchase and discusses bank change and FEMA training

Mayor Lynda Wilson updated the Board of Aldermen on several operational items at the Aug. 25 meeting. She said the city has hired Sherry Chrisp as the codes enforcement employee; Wilson said Chrisp has been photographing violations and sending out letters and has been working at the Police Station with the mayor.
Wilson also reported that a replacement copier/printer for City Hall was purchased for $1,100.00 after the previous unit was deemed beyond repair, and the Treasurer's Report for August 2024 was approved by the board (motion by Alderman John Butner, second by Alderman Janeen Wright; roll call 3 AYES, 0 NAYS).
The mayor told the board the city is changing its banking arrangements because of difficulties working with Mazuma Credit Union; staff visited Central Bank and were pleased, and Alderman Joe Harris expressed support for changing to Central Bank. Wilson asked Aldermen to complete FEMA disaster recovery courses (parts A and B) so the city will be eligible for disaster-recovery funds; she said she will advise where the training can be taken.
The Riverside Fire Department monthly report was not available and will be provided at the next meeting. The board reviewed an invoice from the Office of the Northmoor City Attorneys covering July 16 through August 15; no vote on that invoice is recorded in the minutes provided.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn that recorded a 3 YES, 0 NAYS roll call.
