The Francestown Planning Board on Jan. 20 approved a minor wording change to its proposed 2026 zoning ordinance and scheduled a follow-up public hearing to consider all discussed edits.
Planning Board member Sarah Pyle moved to add the parenthetical “(Permitted)” after the heading “Conforming” to help readers understand the section; the motion was seconded by Betsy Hardwick and passed. Board members described the edit as a clarity improvement rather than a substantive policy change.
Separately, the board voted unanimously to take all the changes and modifications discussed that evening to a new public hearing on Monday, Feb. 2 at 4:30 p.m. The motion to schedule the hearing was made by Sarah Pyle and seconded by Chair Gerri Bernstein.
The board approved amended minutes for its Nov. 4, 2025 meeting, changing an “AirBnB” reference to “short-term rental.” The board also noted two alternate openings after the departures of Ari Levine and Kayla Law and accepted a request from John Pietroniero for a planning consultation about a subdivision on Pleasant Pond, tentatively set for Feb. 2 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 7:38 p.m.
Board members said they expect the Feb. 2 session to include revised ordinance text and additional public comment before any final decisions are made.
