Carpenter School modular costs covered by insurance; district confirms on-time start and system upgrades

The Governor Wentworth Regional School Board heard updates on Aug. 4 about Carpenter School construction and district systems changes that officials said will enable the year to start on schedule.
Superintendent Caroline Arakelian said the cost of the modular classrooms for Carpenter School will be covered by insurance. She outlined student placements: second-grade students will be in the modulars, kindergarten and first-grade students will remain in the main building, and third-grade students will attend Crescent Lake School. Arakelian thanked the Wolfeboro community and the First Congregational Church for their past support and said the district expects school to begin on time.
Arakelian also reviewed administrative transitions intended to strengthen data security and operations: the district will move student information and 9–12 grading to Infinite Campus and transition district email to a .gov domain. She reported that federal grant allocations recently released may be smaller than anticipated, and said the district will audit programs, policies and contracts to comply with new NHED guidance related to DEI.
Separately, Building & Maintenance Committee members reported the turf field replacement project is on schedule. Board members asked about lead remediation at NDS; Business Administrator Kathy O'Blenes said state-required bid posting procedures, which require bids to be posted on the district website for two weeks prior to approval, delayed the remediation timeline.
