Chamber and community groups report business turnover and new arts space plans

Several community presenters followed. Beth Clark introduced herself as the new president of SCAN, described her nonprofit experience and urged council to support upcoming SCAN events, saying she moved to town three and a half years ago and has been involved with SCAN for three years. Clark also encouraged the council to attend a local theater production and mentioned work to launch a community art gallery with an opening planned for March 22.
Council and staff noted the importance of supporting the Boys and Girls Club and other longstanding nonprofit partnerships and discussed outreach to small businesses about licensing and holiday/event coordination. No council action was taken; presenters offered to provide more information at future meetings and to coordinate with town staff on event logistics.
