PDA representative briefs selectmen on transportation master plan, airport reconstruction funding and airline recruitment

Parker highlighted that the Surface Transportation Master Plan update stresses the need to use current traffic data and prioritizes intersection improvements. She encouraged the Planning Board to review the plan to align local projects with regional priorities.
On airport matters, Parker described the funding structure for reconstruction of Taxiway A at Portsmouth Airport, explaining federal and state matching requirements and the roles of the Federal Aviation Administration and NHDOT in approving and funding work. She also described the PDA's airline business-development efforts, including hiring a consultant to produce a business plan aimed at attracting additional commercial carriers, with an emphasis on low-cost, seasonal service.
Parker recommended coordination among town planners and the PDA on future transportation priorities and encouraged use of up-to-date data in planning decisions.
