Planning Board appoints alternate and hears $75,000 Winnicut River grant and October charrette plan

The Greenland Planning Board voted March 19 to appoint Mike Adams as an alternate member, filling a term through March 2029 after Adams outlined his background and noted his service on the Facilities Committee.
Frank Catapano moved the appointment, John McDevitt seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Chair Bob Dion also briefed the Board on the Winnicut River Project, saying the project has been awarded a $75,000 grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. Dion said a charrette led by Plan New Hampshire is tentatively scheduled for Friday, Oct. 16 and Saturday, Oct. 17 at Greenland School to gather public input on bridge traffic on Route 33, the intersection, town walkability and a potential pedestrian bridge at the Winnicut River. "I hoped the charrette would add some weight to the Town's requests to NHDOT by showing community support for the project," Dion said, noting that a pedestrian bridge measure was approved by voters in 2016.
Several Board members volunteered to help with the charrette. The Board also heard that the Route 33 Corridor Study is in progress.
What happens next: Mike Adams' appointment takes effect immediately and the Town will coordinate details for the Winnicut River charrette and related outreach.
