Palmyra Board of Public Works approves routine business, accepts Graybar bid for utility poles

The Palmyra Board of Public Works on June 5 approved routine agenda items and accepted a bid to purchase replacement utility poles, the board record shows.
President Ernest W. Boulware called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m., and the board approved the agenda after a motion by Boulware and a second from Tim Browning. Browning moved to approve the May 15 minutes, seconded by Gerry Maas; Gary Stuhlman moved to approve bills for the electric, water and sewer departments, seconded by Browning. On a call of ayes and nays each motion carried, the minutes state. Payroll reports were discussed but no formal vote was recorded on payroll detail.
Superintendent Brent Abell told the board he has identified 30 secondary electrical poles that need attention and recommended ordering a load of replacement poles. Abell presented two bids: Graybar for $19,016.00 and Arkansas Electric for $19,996.42. Tim Browning moved and Gary Stuhlman seconded a motion to accept the Graybar bid; on a call of ayes and nays the motion carried.
The record does not include a roll-call tally for any vote nor a departmental line-item funding source for the pole purchase. The board also noted other operational items during the meeting, including planned tree trimming and a scheduled delivery of a sewer camera on June 16.
With no further business the board adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
