Velva commissioners approve minutes, payroll and bills and site authorization for Star City Golf Course

Velva’s City Commission approved routine meeting minutes and payroll and bills and granted a site authorization for the Star City Golf Course at its March 17, 2025 meeting.
The meeting opened at 7:00 p.m. with Commission President Mike Schreiner presiding. On a motion by Vice President Dave Keller and seconded by Commissioner Gene Jenson, the commission approved the minutes from the Feb. 18 regular meeting (roll call: all-aye). The commission then approved bills to be paid totaling $69,352.92 and payroll of $24,737.61 on a motion by Commissioner Mary Liz Davis, seconded by Jenson (roll call: all-aye). The list of vendors and amounts was entered into the record.
Schreiner presented a site authorization submitted by the Aggie Foundation for the Star City Golf Course. Commissioners approved the site authorization on a motion by Davis, seconded by Keller (roll call: all-aye). No conditions or amendments were recorded in the meeting minutes.
Commission members present at the roll call were Mike Schreiner (Commission President), Dave Keller (Vice President), Mary Liz Davis (Police/Finance Commissioner), Ben Zietz (Water/Sewer Commissioner) and Gene Jenson (Commissioner of Streets/Improvements). The meeting adjourned at 7:34 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for April 21 at 7:00 p.m.
