Selectmen award custodial services contract to Professional Commercial Cleaning amid staffing shortage

Human Resources/Welfare Director Erica Dickie-Yelle and Interim Finance Administrator Kelly Heon reported that the firm’s proposal matched the budgeted level of service and that the contractor will supply cleaning products and equipment.
Selectman Charlie King moved to accept the contractor’s quote; the motion passed 5-0. Sanderson noted the contract is year-to-year and may be terminated on 30 days’ notice. The board directed staff to obtain proof of insurance, naming the town as additional insured, and a W-9 before initiating services.
Why it matters: the town has struggled to recruit an in-house custodian and the contract ensures routine cleaning services for town buildings while preserving flexibility to return to direct hire if a suitable candidate is found.
