TURTLE LAKE, N.D. — At its Feb. 9 meeting the City Commission approved several administrative actions including bank signature changes, an independent-contractor arrangement and a one-time assistance payment to the Airport Board.
Commissioners voted unanimously to remove former Auditor Joe Herslip as a signer and add Michelle Pickett as a signer on all accounts at TruCommunity Bank and Dakota West Credit Union. The motion was made by Commissioner Rick Schwalk and seconded by Commissioner Matt Lang.
Separately, commissioners discussed hiring Joe Herslip as an independent contractor/project manager for the upcoming Street Project and a potential building project. The commission approved an arrangement at a proposed rate of $50 per hour for up to 20 hours per month, with any hours beyond that requiring commission approval; the motion passed unanimously.
The commission also approved assisting the Airport Board with $1,000 toward a $1,500 insurance premium to help the airport focus funds on state-recommended upgrades; that motion carried unanimously.
Next steps: City staff will update bank account signers with the referenced financial institutions, finalize terms with Herslip as an independent contractor and deliver the approved airport assistance.
