Mazomanie Fire Chief outlines truck and engine replacement; board takes no action

Cam Parman, Fire Chief for the Mazomanie Fire Department, presented replacement options for the village’s aging apparatus on Feb. 24, noting the ladder truck (1997 model) is scheduled for replacement in 2026 and the engine (1996 model) in 2027.
Parman reviewed options including purchase of new and used apparatus and suggested the Board consider timing of purchases to avoid stacking multiple large replacements in a short time. He said if the Village purchases two apparatuses in 2026 the combined pricing would exceed $1 million and noted inclusion of funding in a General Obligation Bond scheduled for sale in April 2026 as a possible financing route. The Board did not take action on the presentation.
