Byron council approves sponsorships, fireworks order, after‑school funding and conference attendance

At its Feb. 10 meeting, the Byron Town Council approved several community and staff items in a series of routine motions.
Council approved a sponsorship of an outfield sign for Big Horn Little League after a motion by Councilman Mikey Brightly and second by Shae Abraham. The council also authorized Caleb Sanders of Pyro Up to begin ordering fireworks for Byron Days and the U.S. 250th anniversary after a motion by Shae Abraham; the council said the town will cover the fireworks cost and that the Recreation and Byron Days committees will continue budgeting and planning.
Council approved a funding request from Rocky Mountain Elementary School for the Boost After School Program on a motion by Brandon Hessenthaler and second by Shae Abraham. The council approved Public Works attendance at the WAWRS conference (motion by Mikey Brightly, second Brandon Hessenthaler) and discussed per diem, mileage and hotel reimbursements.
The council noted that liquor license renewals for the Byron Bar must be advertised in the Lovell Chronicle and agreed that the bar is financially responsible for advertising; the formal license renewal was tabled until April for further processing.
All recorded motions in these items passed with unanimous voice votes as reflected in the minutes.
